Ken's Clothes

For last night's Cubs game - their first of the post-season - Kenny J chose to wear a non-Sammy Sosa Cubs jersey with no hat. Although he struggled a bit with the decision to not wear a hat, we both agreed that it was for the best.

Obviously, Ken's apparel choices for last night's game did not produce enough offense as the Cubs went down to defeat to the D-Backs - the league's worst offensive team - 3-1.

To get the team back on track tonight, I would suggest that Ken add a Cubs cap to his wardrobe. I would also suggest that he stick with the non-Sammy Sosa Cubs jersey for the time being. I don't think it is time to panic and bring out the big guns yet. Let's keep a little bit in reserve.

Gentlemen, your thoughts?

If it will help I will wear my Cub hat for you tonight also. I am all about friends needing to enjoy the thrill of victory I felt a couple of years ago.

Couldn't stay up to watch the game, had to work at 5 a.m. It sounded like Sweet Lou feel asleep too. Pulling Zambrano with only 85 pitches and worrying about pitching him in game four. I guess they forgot to tell him it is not a seven-game series and there might not even be a game four. I know Maramol has been lights outs, but isn't that what the gave Zambrano all those millions for???

Hey, Hey

Please don't show disrespect toward our God-like manager. If he wouldn't have pulled Zambrano, Zambrano may have spontaneously combusted. Several university studies conducted earlier today confirm this possibility. There's a very good chance that Sweet Lou saved the life of our ace. He knows things that you (and other mere mortals) couldn't begin to understand.

Go Cubs!

Just for the record, I did add a hat for the game last night-sometimes wearing it as a rally cap. It is, however, my fault on the loss. I did go walk the the dog during the bottom of the second. Imagine my chagrin on my return.

Ken -- You might want to consider the Sammy Sosa jersey for Saturday's game. Hat or no-hat is your call.

Have you guys heard "Hey Lou Pinella" set to "Hey There Delilah" by the Plain White T's? Pretty good. If you haven't seen it, look it up on Youtube. You'll definitely get a kick out of it! Listen soon, cause the season will be over tomorrow.

This is 1984 in reverse. In '84, the Cubs went up two games to none over the Padres. The first two games were in Wrigley Field. When the series shifted to San Diego, the momentum also shifted to the Padres and they won the next three games. It was heartbreak in 1984, but now 23 years later it is going to be ecstasy for the Cubs.

Go Cubs!

After writing that thing about the Cubs vs Padres I started thinking I may have gotten the facts wrong. Didn't the Cubs actually go up three games to none before San Diego won four in a row? I could look it up, but that would take time and effort, so instead I'll simply say that the facts as I reported them could be wrong, but the concept is the same.

Go Cubs!

Louis,
The cubs were only up 2 games to none against the Padres, that was back beforethe NLCS went to a best of 7 game format.
