Other Buds?

You guys are all very interesting and what not, but we can invite other people to this forum. I don't really know who or for that matter have any contact with anyone else from high school. I did try to email Mark Bettcher at some high school in Illinois, trying to get a line on Paul, but got no response. I don't know-we can be very selective-or invite just about everyone. I started the blog-but its OUR blog. Any thoughts on this.

Ken -- I am opposed to inviting others. I only spilled my guts about my sad, underperforming life because it was just you guys I was talking to. If others joined, I would at least censor my comments, and more likely just flat out lie about how good my life is.

To the best of my knowledge, Paul Bettcher is in the Witness Protection Program. He graduated from NIU and then I heard he moved to California, got a job as a commercial artist (graphic designer?) and married a woman with a mysterious past. I heard she was either the daughter of a mobster or married Paul despite already being married and having a family in another part of the country. After that, Paul disappeared. No one (not even Emil Shlee) has heard from him.

Just to reiterate, I don't want others on this site. Plus, the name of the site is "KenJ - Highschoolbuds." It's not like you had any friends other than us.

I think I would agree with Lou's thoughts on adding others. That way we won't have worry about what we say and Keith won't have to worry about all the typos. Plus more people would find out about Lou's hot dog stand and he wouldn't be able to give us all freebies.

Maybe we could have like a guest of the week... let them have access to the blog and we could sort of like interview them and find out what is going on... on second thought I can't really think of that many people I really want to talk to unless you can track down Carl Patterson or Stacy Koulos. Hey Lou, are you serious about that Paul Bettcher thing??

Yes, I'm serious about Paul Bettcher, except for the part about his wife and the Witness Protection Program.

You know, I was only half kidding about not inviting others. I like the idea of having a place where the four of us can gather and discuss our lives. A place where we can catch up with each other and share the latest about family, jobs, etc. A place where Queebs is not considered a freak nor discriminated against for his homosexual tendencies (I'm not saying your gay, Keith. I'm just saying "tendencies.")

We've done a crappy job of keeping in touch with each other over the years. I'd prefer not to have others intruding on our little lovefest.

Ok, you guys have me cracking up. We don't need to invite anyone else. It was just an idea-but what about like Tim Molahan, Ken Freke, Donald and Richard Loveless-are they still, and is their triplet Ralph Oliver?, Ricky Robinson-I think he runs a hot dog stand, several of them-it would be good to talk to him about product image: what about Bryan Manessier, Richard Mann, Ralph Oliver, KEVIN NOBLE-for gods sake, Brian Lemmons?
OK, just joking-but what does Marisa Elizondo look like today? Diana Hansen? Patty Hiatt? Linda HIx? Jan Miller? Nancy Paulson? OK, that's enough. But what about Joel Frerich? Have Stacy Koulos's eyebrows grown back? These are all questions I have and many more, but it's OK, even great we keep it this way. OK, OK what about Mild Bill-I know he's not high school-just a thought. We can also limit what people can see and contribute to.

Of all of the people you mentioned, my guess is that several would not be capable of participating in this forum. Tim Molihan, on the other hand, might not have anything to say, but if what you (Ken) says is true, at least he'd have an Internet connection in his cell.

I am not opposed to inviting Mild Bill to join us. I'd like to catch up with him. If you could track down Bird, he'd be another guy I would welcome.

I think Ricky owns a chain of shoe shine stands, not hot dog stands. Or at least he did. I think he was living in Atlanta.

Mmmm, Marisa Elizondo. Oooh, Diane Hansen. Aaah, Stacy Koulous' eyebrows...

Actually, I would like to hear from Nancy Paulson. Last I heard, she married a guy from South Africa and they live on a big ranch there. I think you told me that, Queebs. Didn't you hear that from her brother Gary?

By the way, how is Rusty Palm (what a great name)? Do you still see him at Ace.

Diane Hansen and Jan Miller never spoke to me in High School so I don't really think that they would start now and somehow I don't think I really missed out on that much ( oooh, did that sound bitter?? ) Wow, Ken is really throwing me into the wayback machine Brian Lemons, Ken Freke??? If we could get Richard Mann into the blog I am up for that in a minute...
OK here is the update for the people I know.
Rusty moved to Arizona about a year ago. He still works for Ace. He is a District Manager. He worked for the area that managed our corporate stores and we decided to sell those off about 18 months ago. Both of his kids are in college now so he decided that he would pack up and head West. I spoke to him around the end of last year and I think he really enjoys it out there. I believe Nancy Paulson still lives in South Africa. East Aurora Basketball legend Gary Paulson still works for Ace ( I see him every now and again ) and the last I asked Nancy was still there. BTW, I think I mentioned to a few of you, Gary had to have bypass surgery a year or so ago. He is still in good shape so I must it must of been something in the genes. That covers everyone I know, If we can track dowm WFB or Bird we need to get them hooked up

Hey Boys -- On the Nancy Paulson front (as I remember it was a beautiful front) I receieved an Aurora U directory last year and it her listed with an Aurora address. (Sorry I don't have the directory so you can write for nude photos). As for the Stacey thing I had completely forgotten about her. Sorry to hear some of you still have those fantasies. I am going to look through my old yearbook and see if there any you forgot to mention-if I can get some of those darn pages unstuck.

Bode -- As I recall, Stacey's eyebrows had their own photo. I think they may have been on the debate team too. Check that out.

Never thought my eyebrows were the topic of conversation. Just great that you guys think of me after sooooooo many years.

Yeah we'll all get together at the next reunion and hit each other upside the head with our canes.

Boys,

Mum's the word.

P.B. is in a Federal Prison in San Antonio, doing 15 to 20 for grand larceny, racketeering, extortion, and for beating that ho he married too, nearly to death. But keep it on the QT, because I had to testify against him and it wasn't pretty to see him bawling like that. I don't think he likes his new friends either. I did see traces of lipstick on him.

Recently, he says he's doing much better now that he's met Bubba and to send more Vaseline.
